Limited Edition Mint Swirled Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough
The other day at the grocery store I noticed they already have the whole Christmas seasonal line of cookie dough. I might post about the seasonal Christmas cookie dough eventually, as they are sort of limited edition, but for now I noticed one of them was specifically labeled limited edition and was not too Christmasy to write about now. They are called Limited Edition Mint Swirled Chocolate Chip Cookies.
These cookies are made by Nestle Tollhouse and are the break apart kind. The cookies are basically chocolate chip cookies, except the chocolate chips are not normal. Instead the chocolate chips are swirled regular chocolate and green mint chocolate. They were not on sale, but they drew me in as unique and since I was already saving $19.90 by buying 10 Pomegranates for $10 instead of $29.90 I figured I could squeeze them in (in fact I still saved 50% on my grocery bill using no coupons).
Yesterday I baked the cookies. I cannot remember ever choosing to buy the break apart cookies and now I remember why. They are not too hard to break apart at first, but after a few minutes warming up out of the fridge they get kind of soft and do not break apart by hand as well. The main thing, though, is the cookies size ends up quite small and it is really hard to get these to end up not crispy. I really am particular about liking my cookies soft, so that is a big reason I dislike the break apart kind.
The actual flavor of the cookies are delicious and when they are soft right out of the oven I really enjoyed them. A few of them ended up staying soft, but the hard crispy ones I do not like because of the texture.
