Baskin Robbins Limited Edition Election Flavors
Baskin Robbins introduced two Limited Edition flavors a few days ago in honor of the two main candidates for U.S. President in the upcoming 2008 elections. One flavor is supposed to represent McCain and the other represents Obama. There is even a flavor poll election on Baskin Robbins’ website as a mock Presidential election. Will be interesting to see if the nation’s favorite flavor ends up being the next President and if people vote based on actual taste or just based on what candidate they like.
Straight Talk Crunch - This flavor has a base of white chocolate ice cream. Mixed in it are caramel, chocolate pieces, candy red states, and crunchy mixed nuts. This flavor is meant to represent Republican Senator John McCain.
Whirl of Change - This flavor has a peanut nougat base (sorry, I guess neither flavors get nut allergists votes). Whirled into it are chocolate covered peanut brittle chunks and caramel.
They both sound like delicious flavors to me. I like the sound of a white chocolate base of Straight Talk Crunch. The peanut nougat also sounds like an interesting base. I, however, do not really like hard things like nuts mixed into my ice cream, so not sure I would really like either of them. Anyways I think it is a kind of cool thing and it still is always fun to try out new ice cream flavors. I actually kind of would hope they are not too awesome because then I would miss them when they are gone like I still miss the Dreyer’s Gingerbread, which Safeway sometimes seasonally makes, but it just is not really the same.
